Most of the employed population have had to endure the interview process at one time or another and it can be a fairly intimidating prospect.
However, it needn’t be.
If you follow these trusty steps, you are likely to feel more confident and calm – which is key to portraying yourself well to the prospective boss.

We are all too often made aware by the press of discrimination in recruitment; whether that be down to gender (as discussed in a recent article here) or race, as was highlighted in the recent 2009 IRS survey monitoring equality and diversity in recruitment. When it comes to ageism in the recruitment process, the topic seems to lack the sensationalist appeal favoured by the media. However, it is an increasingly important area to society whether we know it or not, as described here by Third Sector Foresight.

Wouldn’t it be nice to think in these modern times that gender is no longer an issue when looking to get into the majority of professions?
Women have proven themselves to be just as competent, intelligent and organised as their male counterparts and the career progression of many notable females does not seem to have been limited by their sex- Margaret Thatcher, Oprah Winfrey, JK Rowling, I could go on. However, as an insightful if concerning FT report recently explored, women are still under represented at senior levels.

When looking at your career options, the pharmaceutical industry is definitely a sector worth serious consideration. In the UK alone, almost 70,000 people are employed by a pharma organization, so it is a huge part of the economy. Plus, there is still so much discovery and research to be done into both existing and emerging ailments that the industry has a solid future and offers employees experience at the very cutting edge of scientific development.
